Kirsty Evans, Director
Kirsty has been in the business for almost 20 years and founded Canvas in 2010. She earned her stripes in social marketing research at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and Cragg Ross Dawson in London and still thinks that interviewing teenagers in Edinburgh about their sex lives is the toughest job she’s ever done. At branding, design and innovation agency, Corporate Edge, she sharpened her commercial skills and got to grips with NPD, brand hierarchies and creative types. And at Thinktank she travelled the world, learning how to find out what the heck the similarities are between consumers in Saudi Arabia, Russia and South Africa. Current interests include how best to use the internet to uncover insight, and behavioural economics.
Tom Marriage, Associate
Tom has worked as a researcher and planner for 14 years. After 9 years at 2CV, he enjoyed a short stint at Incite, helping to shape their qualitative offer, followed by a period at Nokia, working as a consumer trends analyst for the mobile ‘phone design and marketing teams. Tom’s particular interests are using ethnographic approaches to inform product and service development, trends research and emerging digital technology usage in fast growth markets.
